When replacing the dryer vent beats cleaning it again

Towels still damp after two cycles. The laundry room feels humid. You cleaned the vent last year and it is slow again. That pattern usually points at the duct itself, not the lint load. Sagging foil duct holds lint in every low spot. Crushed transition hose behind a pedestal washer/dryer set does the same. Cleaning buys months. Replacement fixes the geometry.

Replacement means rigid metal, supported, with the fewest elbows the framing allows. Every 90-degree elbow eats into the manufacturer's allowed length. Prewar bungalows and service porches in the Palisades often get a short side wall run, which is the easy case. Attic runs from hallway closets are the hard case. So are second-floor laundry rooms venting vertically through a roof jack.
